"I have had coldsores since the age of 8. Always on my lip, but in my 30s this changed to lips and chin. I've had some horror outbreaks which covered my whole chin - yuk! I've tried zorivax cream and a tablet form (Valtrex) recommended for genital herpes - I was desperate. At first the tablets worked, but then after a while even those didn't work. "I usually get 3-4 cold sore outbreaks a year on two areas of my lip. I tried the program using only the DMSO roll on, and the DMSO cream as directed during a non-outbreak 3-day period. Sure enough, about a month later, an outbreak was forming on my lip. I immediately applied the roll on and cream as directed. To my amazement, the first portion of my lip that normally breaks out to a ¼” area never erupted. Sure, it got red and puffy, but the blisters never formed. After 4 days, the redness is almost entirely gone. As for the second area that usually erupts in a similar manner, it only erupted in a very small blister that was more like a very small pimple. The area never erupted full-blown, and it is only a bit red after 4 days now. It’s been hard to believe that anything will work after trying so many failures, but now I’m a true believer. The good thing is, the products are really cheap, especially compared to some of the snake oils out on the market today. Whether or not I’ll “never have another outbreak” is yet to be seen, but just the fact that I can actually stop the outbreak from full development is nothing short of a miracle. "I somehow contracted poison ivy "down there" which triggered the 4th herpes episode of my entire life. Editor Note: Our 'cure' is no more outbreaks or symptoms and therefore not contagious. We believe a person is only contagious from prodome (possibly a day before) on through until a day or two after the outbreak has healed completely. When the virus lies dormant it poses no threat. This is our belief. But we have dealt with this virus on a daily basis for over 10 years. Feedback from our customers over the years verifies our belief. Therefore, we believe that if you go for five months (or five years) without an outbreak or symptom you would not have been contagious during that entire time. This again is our belief- our firm belief. You will have to research the subject and decide what you believe.

In "Understanding Herpes” by the American Social Health Association (ASHA) they state on page 11 “During inactive phases, the virus lies dormant in the ganglion areas and poses no threat.”
