Anaerobic exercise
Anaerobic exercise (without oxygen) not only
contributes to an increase in outbreaks but is also
very unhealthy. Aerobic exercise (with oxygen) is
excellent for overall good health. But most aerobic
exercise is actually anaerobic. Once you pass the
anaerobic threshold you are in oxygen debt. The cells
no longer derive energy directly from the burning of
oxygen where any lactic acid produced is easily
eliminated from the body. The cells now derive
energy from glucose or sugar fermentation. This is an
abnormal respiration. Large amounts of cellular lactic
acid are produced. The body can no longer eliminate
this massive accumulation of acid. The body, in it's
survival mode, will rob needed alkaline substances
(calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and iron)
from the body to try and neutralize this massive
influx of acid (calcium from bones for example)
causing weakened, brittle bones later in life. Alkaline
neutralizes acid.
Anaerobic exercise is exercising to near exhaustion or
fatigue. You should never exercise above 80 to 85%
of VO Max. Look at the faces of marathon runners -
deep lines and wrinkles, sagging skin with a very
gaunt appearance. A few will stagger, stumble and
even try to crawl across the finish line. This is due to
the extreme acidity of the cells caused by anaerobic
exercise. They are at the point very close to death
and some have even died. It is no wonder that the
average life span of a marathon runner is 55 years of
age. (Jim Fixx died at 55.) Most of our (which is a
small percentage) failures come from marathon
runners, triathlon participants and aerobic (actually
anaerobic) instructors. Aerobic exercise is excellent.
It increases body oxygen content keeping you young
and healthy. The fitter you are the more you can
exercise aerobically.
While following our three to five month program a
person must significantly reduce (or stop
completely) their exercise routine. Walking or slow
intermittent jogging is allowed. Anything more could
cause rapid detoxification. Once you have completed
the three to five month program you can
gradually return to your previous aerobic
exercise routine. You must, however, monitor
yourself closely. If you do experience the start of an
outbreak you have exceeded your level of exercise
necessary to remain outbreak free. Immediately
follow the three-day procedure. The outbreak will not
appear. Wait a week or so and then return to a
less strenuous exercise regimen.
